Mitsubishi Electric received "Top Products 2018" accolades for its SUMMIT Series® UPS featuring Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductors. The use of SiC as the semiconductor material enables power switching devices to operate at much higher voltages, frequencies and temperatures than conventional semiconductor materials. All of these desirable characteristics lead to higher efficiencies, and in the case of the SUMMIT, operational efficiencies up to 99%. As proof, the SUMMIT Series 750 and 500 kVA UPS models available from Mitsubishi Electric garnered the two highest ratings on the Energy Star website in the AC-Double Conversion (VFI) product category. Higher efficiencies translate to lower energy usage and cooling costs and also contribute to a lower total cost of ownership. In addition, silicon carbide inherently offers higher thermal conductivity, thereby promoting heat dissipation and effectively reducing the operational temperature of the equipment.
The 9900 Series and Summit Series® UPS product lines are now available with lithium ion energy storage solutions. The latest generation of lithium ion batteries deliver extremely long and reliable life with a high level of safety. Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. offers the ability to provide varying lithium ion chemistries including Lithium Manganese Oxide (LMO), Nickle Manganese Cobalt Oxide (NMC), and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) for your UPS. Each solution provides an alternate approach to the traditional means of energy storage in data center applications.
Mitsubishi Electric U.S. Inc. has launched an initiative offering the building community the opportunity to purchase complete packages from a single, reliable source. A bundled solution provides building owners and facility managers with financial benefits through more efficient systems that can work together effectively. Systems included in the bundle approach comprise electrical, mechanical, and vertical transportation solutions. Read more here:

The winners of Plant Engineering 2017 Product of the Year awards were announced April 16. As in years past, winners are determined by Plant Engineering magazine's readers. Votes cast reflect the best in innovative products that implement new technologies to solve today's problems. Mitsubishi Electric's 9900CX UPS garnered the gold award in the Energy Management category, beating all products competing for this top award. This is the second time in three years a UPS from Mitsubishi Electric has finished in the top 3 in this category; in 2015, Mitsubishi Electric was awarded the bronze prize for the 9900C.
